UAB Medicine will open its new facility in Stadium Trace Village in Hoover on Monday, December 16.
Dubbed the UAB Medicine Hoover Primary and Specialty Care Clinic, the 39,000-square-foot facility will host a variety of medical specialties and features to serve patients in Hoover and southern Jefferson County.
“UAB has had a medical presence in Hoover for more than 20 years, and we are excited to expand our ability to bring the expertise of UAB Medicine to Hoover and the southern part of Jefferson County,” said Will Ferniany, CEO of the UAB Health System. “Health care today requires enhanced care in outpatient settings with an emphasis on wellness and prevention of disease. Our goal is to bring the skill and experience of our outstanding medical professionals to where people live, and this facility will support those efforts. We look forward to better serving the needs of the Greater Hoover area.”
The facility is located at 501 Emory Drive West in the Stadium Trace Village shopping center off of Interstate 459 at Alabama 150. The facility will offer adult primary care, family medicine, OB/GYN services, gastrointestinal surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), podiatry services and urology services.
Ferniany said the outpatient primary and specialty care clinics will complement Medical West’s freestanding ER department in Hoover, which is also located at Exit 10 on Interstate 459. Medical West is also planning a replacement hospital nine miles away in McCalla.
The clinic will employ 60 people. Brasfield & Gorrie served as the general contractor, while Gresham Smith & Partners was the architect.
