A New Alabama Nonprofit Addressing Sports Gambling Addiction
Sports gambling continues to grow in popularity, and with it, the risk of addiction. In response, The Parlay Project was launched to raise awareness, encourage prevention, and offer hope to those affected by sports gambling addiction.
The nonprofit was co-founded by Will Kadish and Nathan Burdette — two men who openly acknowledge their own past struggles and are now focused on helping others avoid similar paths. Their mission centers on honesty, accountability, and the belief that recovery is possible.
“I’d like to try to catch the guys before they make mistakes,” Kadish said in an interview with Yellowhammer News, “but also remind the ones that have, that it isn’t over. You can rebuild. Something beautiful can come from a low moment.”
The Parlay Project aims to remove stigma around addiction by sharing real stories and encouraging open conversations — reaching people before gambling causes lasting harm and reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone.
